Hi Rahul,

Nice to hear that you have got medical instruction and request for PR
fee. It appears that your case is almost nearing completion.

Yes, you don't need any prior visa for entry into HKG. Please see the
link for evidence:

http://www.visarite.com/hong kong visa.htm

For nationals of India, you can stay upto 14 days with visa on
arrival. Just present your passport before the immigration officer and
he will see your return ticket and stamp visa (Chop) on your passport.

Now, please try to avoid staying in HKG. Hotels are very expensive
comparing to other Asian countries like Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia
and others. If you can arrive at HKG in the morning you can go back
same day by night time fligh. (Please check your schedule). CHC, HKG
will do everything within 3 Hrs time(max). They won't tell you to stay
unless there is unforessen problem like passport number mistake, death
of spouse, inclusion of newborn child.

However, if you really need to stay at HKG due to flight
non-availability you can stay at the following hote which I found to
be cheaper and competitive.

http://www.bishopleihtl.com.hk

Meantime, taxi fare from Airport to city is also very expensive. You
can take airport bus (City Bus # A11) just from outside of airport.
This bus goes to just near the CHC,HKG. Please get down at stop # 6
infront of Jardina House at HKG, Central. When you get down from the
bus just turn left and proceed about 200 Yrds and you will find the
Exchange Square building Tower 1 where will find the most wanted CHC,
HKG office at 12F floor.

For food you can try

Namaste Club, 1/F., 506 Lockheart Roard, Causeway Bay, HK Tel:
28930587
Or
Shalimar Club, Flat B4, 1/F, Dragon Rise, 9-11 Pennington Street,
Causeway Bay, HK Tel: 28157378 / 29157368

If you need any other info. please don't hesitate to ask me. Have a
nice time at HKG my brother.

Naser

Hi,

Could you share your experience getting the visa stamp from HKG Consulate?
How long did it take to get the stamp in the consulate? One day or just two hours? Any letters/ docs needed other than passports, immig. notice letter?
How long did you stay in HKG?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
eyey

Hello experts (esp. Andrew/Jim/James/Ashok/)

First of all, thanks very much for your invaluable contribution to
this forum and needless to mention that you guyz are helping a lot to
all members.

Next, I'm pleased to inform you that I'm back from HKG with the visa
stamped and Confirmation of Permanent Residence. Before leaving the
consulate I checked the names, DOB and other information very
carefully and everything found OK. But while I was on my way back
home, I was taking a look on the papers siting in the plane and
discovered a small typo in the "Place of Birth" column of my spouse's
CPR. It was marked as "GCOPALGANJ" but it should be "GOPALGANJ" only a
"C" has been mistakenly printed between the word "G" and "O".

What can I do at this moment. Should I notify the CHC, HKG now. How
can get it corrected. Would appreciate your guideline.

Best Regards
Naser

Hello,

Here I am standing in my Canada immigration process from CHC HKG:

I sent my medical to Beijing and lawyer sent ROLF to HKG. My lawyer got a letter from CHC HKG that they receive the cover letter but not ROLF draft. So my lawyer cancelled the previous draft and sent another draft to HKG this week.

I was thinking to wrap all these very soon and drive to Canada for 2-3 days. But everything looks very late now and we have the baby due in Sept.

I am sure we can not wrap this landing thing till sept so I cannot fly to HKG for getting visa till I add our baby in the application. I have few questions:

1. What I suppose to do if I got visa stamping invitation letter from HKG before I add baby?
2. Can I update my file with new family member even after invitation letter?
3. Baby will be US citizen; can this help to expedite the process?
4. What is the best approach in my case?

Please feel free to give your advice.

Thanks
Rahul
