Default Awaiting decision on my PR - can I tarvel to the US?

Hi

I'm living and working in Vancouver, on a work permit til Oct 2010. I've applied for PR via the BC Provincial Nominee Program, and my CIC application is now with the guys in Seattle for processing. I've had my medical exam and am waiting for the OK from CIC, and acceptance of my application for Permanent Residence.

Somebody told me that I can't leave Canada while I wait for the CIC decision - is this true? Will it somehow invalidate my application if I cross the US border (by car) on my UK passport?

Seems weird to me....

Thanks

As long as you have a valid work permit and passport you're fine to travel.

Thanks - that's good news. I'm taking my wee nephew to Oregon for a road trip, and would hate to be refused re-entry at the Peace Arch!

If the parents are accompanying make sure you have a letter allowing the nephew to travel with you signed by both parents.
