Hi, lucky guys with a PR visa in your pockets!
Could you share with us, how much time was left on your visa, when you received it?

the validity of the PR visa is based on the earlier of either the expiry of your or your family's medical or the expiry of your or your family's passport.

individual circumstances. On average, however, applicants can expect to
be granted 3-6 months within which to land in Canada.

If his passport almost expires, you may ask the expiration of his passport.
then the expiration of visa can be determined. OR if Apr 6 is the
expiration. Maybe he took or passed his medicals on the said date.
