Default Australian Wanting to Migrate to Canada

Hi guys,

A bit of background on myself. I am Australian, and i would like to live and work in Canada on a permanent basis. I am an Electrical Engineer, my wife is an HR advisor and we have a little boy, under 1yr old. I have abt 5yrs post qualification experience.

Whats the prognosis on a potential move to Canada? and what would be the first set of steps? the immigration website was fairly confusing to me.

Thanks in advance.

Read the wiki on this site would be the first place to go. Also look up trades training for the province of your choice, look to challenge the inter provincial exam. You'll need to prove 9000 hours work experience. You could also look up the redseal.ca site for further information.

Come to Canada on a visit and network with potential employers.

He says he's an electrical engineer not an electrician. There's a difference me thinks.

the wiki was heaps helpful. Yes, I am an Electrical Engineer with a bachelors degree from the US and masters degree from Australia.

it seems that Electrical Engineering is the only main engineering discipline missing from the in-demand list. i find that interesting. lol
