CPC sent back my sponsorship application, they need me to show more proof of intent to settle back in Canada with my partner, but I have already sent a letter from a friend willing to house us & i am afriad i do not know what else to send for proof. it is kind of hard to look for a job when my scheduled departure is around Christmas & we are still summer. Any suggestion?
Plus they seem to have sent back my application without the payment or any reference to having cashed it, is that normal? (I am hoping so) I assuming they have kept the money since they gave a 90 day deadline.

Letter from friend was probably the worse idea you had - it doesn't prove that you are moving to Canada at all. More, it may be seen as indication of the opposite.
Provide evidence of job search, of getting your own place to live (not with friend) etc.
