Attn: Mr Miller. How to get an update?
Mr Miller,
I filed my app in February 2002 and got AOR after 6 months. Last year in June I was notified that my interview is waived and that I should resubmit my FBI report alongwith other documents including medical report. Everything was sent withing 45 days and after couple of months I received a letter from immigration cosul Hal Watson with new app forms and was instructed to fill it out and send it back. I sent it on October 8th 2003. It's been almost 5 months and I'm still waiting for a response. Many others who had the same time line and were processed at the same center are already in Canada now. Request for my CAIPS never saw a reply. I s there any way I can get an update from them? I'm thinking of writing a letter to them and request for an update. My meds will expire sometime in June. Please comment? Thanks a lot. Syed |
Re: Mr Miller. How to get an update?
You won't get CAIPS file printout just because you asked visa post for it.
It doesn't work that way. Only Canadian resident can apply for access to your file and not through visa post. Your background/security check was initiated after interview waiver and then stopped because they didn't have new forms. Once new forms were received background/security check started. Depending from your nationality and countries you resided in it may take anywhere from several months to well over a year. Asking for status update won't help you at all - it will only make processing times longer for everybody, so don't do it unless 3 years pass from your application date. -- ../.. Re: Mr Miller. How to get an update?
Mr.Miller,
I have the same situation and was asked to fill forms in last December. But my CAIPS notes show the BDEC and SECSEC are 1 dated on September 5, 2003. I think my background and secrity check have been done by that date, why was I still requested the updated forms? It has been 3 months since I sent the new forms out, but nothing heard from the Buffalo. I am very anxious what is going on of my case there. Is there some ways to know? Thanks. |
Re: Attn: Mr Miller. How to get an update?
Because Buffalo needs all the information from new forms on file. Be
patient. But it sounds strange - if your BDEC and SEC are done and you have done medicals as well as selection decision is positive then there may be something what was found at a later time what triggered second look at your file. The only way to find out is to wait or to get new CAIPS printout. -- ../.. Re: Attn: Mr Miller. How to get an update?
If there is something abnormal, I would think the RCMP certificate of my husband. This certificate was supposed to mail to Buffalo by RCMP, but RCMP mailed me by mistake, and I had to forward it to Buffalo. That is the only thing i think different with others. But it was not my fault, and the certificate is clean.
What should I do now? |
