Default Attn Mr Miller and experts

I landed in Canada last year in 2004 and presently studying at University of Toronto. I am a canadian PR and hold all the relevant documents. I lived in Singapore as a Singapore PR and applied for my singapore citizenship which is approved. currently I hold an Indian passport and my Canadian PR records are based on the Indian Passport.

I want to become Singapore Citizen (having Singapore passport) which requires me to denounce my Indian Citizenship and render my passport to Indian High Commission in Singapore. I intend to be a singaporean and Canadian PR on a long term plan. On the part of Singapore Immigration, they have no objection of mine being a canadian PR and allowed me to continue my canadian PR status after acquiring citizenship. But for that I need to change my passport details with CIC and perhaps require a new canadian immigrant visa stamp on my new singapore passport.

Now I am concerned if CIC/Canadian immigration laws allow the Canadian PR's to change passport and base nationality? How should I approach this matter. Pls advice me with your expertise.

Best Regards
Vish

Nothing will happen to your Canadian PR as long as you meet residency obligations. Your PR Card is all you need in addition to any valid passport to enter Canada.
