Sir,
I was wondering that what exactly is back ground check. Do they check only criminal records to the countries or any other procedure.
After medicals is it normal to take 4 months to get ppr. I am still waiting after 4 months..
Do they have timeline to follow up with in time limits
Once I get PPR can I go personally to stamp my PP?

There are actually at least 3 background checks
1. Criminal, which should be covered by the Police Certificates presented, but if there are any doubts about them, CHC will follow up.
2. Employment/Education, in some cases, especially in countries where there are high rates of fraudulent documents, CHC will follow up with employers and educational institutions to confirm the authenticity of the documents present.
3. Security, done by CSIS, which investigations the background as to the applicants role if any in "terrorist" or other types of organizations or associations with other persons involved with those organizations.
