Applying within Canada, Experiance Class or PNP??
I have been working for the same employer in Calgary for 2 years, I was on an open work permit riding on the back of my wifes study/post grad WP. Now I have my own WP tied to my job. It looks like I could apply under experience class' for PR or get my employer to go for AINP as I'm classed as a skilled worker. My main question is which would be best for me to go for? Which is quicker?
I was told by a lawyer that 'Experience Class' was a quicker process and less paperwork, although said lawyer also gave me some bad advise regarding my stay in Canada after my work permit ran out (I ended up staying with no status for 2 months following his advice).
What is your experience?
Any help, as always is much appreciated

Canadian Experience class is being processed in 14 months at present.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...es/perm-ec.asp
Federal Skilled Worker class is taking a minimum of 20 months at present.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...fed.asp#europe
PNP would depend on the province you are working in.
Looks like your lawyer may have got it right this time
You will still need to get the Language test done though and I am not sure that there is less paperwork for the EC class http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...ations/cec.asp.
Don't forget that any time you were without legal status to work will not count towards the 2 year period.

So it looks like going for experience class would be favorable?!. I'm living in Alberta. As for the time here without status, I have 22 months full time employment with the same employer as my new WP is for, so in 2 months i'll be ok for experience class route I believe.

I just looked at the AINP processing times - it's 1 month for the Provincial Nominee part, then a further 13 months for CIC London's part - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...provincial.asp so I suppose it's swings and roundabouts. There is more info on ths class here - http://albertacanada.com/immigration...en-stream.aspx
I don't have personal knowledge of the Canadian Experience Class so perhaps others who do can offer more advice, this is all from info on the CIC websites.
