Default Applying for study in Canada during PR application

Hi all,

I guess there are quite a lot of thread talking about this. However, I didn't find the exact answers to my questions. So sorry, may any experts help me?

I am applying for PR and I got my AOR two years ago (my wife as dependent). If now my wife applies for studying in Canada,

1. Can I apply for an open work permit along with her study permit application?
2. What do we need to prove in term of connections to my home country? (e.g. house, money, car?)
3. Does it have any effect on my PR application? Do I need to transfer my case to buffalo if we really go to Canada on study / work permit?
4. If I do not need to transfer my case, do I just need to change my mailing address to the Canadian address where we will stay? And the coming CIC letters (e.g. medical, IA) will be sent to the Canadian address directly from my home country's visa office?

Thanks for your help. Thanks a lot!

Yes, you can - you can also ask for it at the port of entry where the actual study permit will be issued. Providing of course that your wife's application is approved and you both receive TRV's.

Yes, of course. And you have even bigger burden now with PR application pending to convince visa post that you will leave Canada upon expiration of permits.

It won't affect your PR application, but the latter will affect study permit application. No transfer of files needed nor allowed.

Yes. Just the mailing and residential address changes.
