Hi Everyone,
I"m planning on getting married in Egypt in March and I was told that I could start the sponsorship process at the Canadian Embassy in Egypt. Then I was told I had to come back to Canada to start the sponsorship. This was told to me by 2 different people at the immigration office in Canada. I want to know the quickest way to start the process. Also there are so many forms to fill out I"m confused. Do I need to submit the fees at the same time? My birth certificate is in Portugese do I need to get this translated to English? I am a Canadian citizen do I even need the birth certificate?
Please Help I'm full of questions...

You need to submit both packages - your application to be approved as a
sponsor and your spouse's PR application - together to CIC office in Canada.
Once you are approved as a sponsor your spouse's PR application will be
forwarded to Cairo for processing.
All the forms, all required documents, proof of your spouse's medicals, all
fees, etc. must be submitted together at the same time. Check proper
application kit to see what documents must be submitted.

As a CDN Citozen you can file the kit even though you are not residing in
Canada. Check out www.cic.gc.ca The Embassy in Cairo wil probaly ask for
evidence of your plans to return to Canada. That is our expereince with that
visa office.
If you are confused now you should seek professional help.

Thank you for your reply. Do I have to submit any fees in Egypt at the time I file or do I do it when I come back to Canada?
Thanks.
Thanks.
