Applying for the Quebec Immigration Program - Need help assessing my profile..
Dear,
I'm thinking of applying for the Quebec Immigration program.
My profile:
Undergrad in arts from Thailand.
Master degree in business from Australia (1.5 yrs study).
Work experience in Bangkok as a HR Consultant for 10 months
Work experience in Singapore as a translator for 21 months
Part-time/Freelance work experience in a few other companies in Bangkok.
Took IELTS a few weeks ago:
Listening 7.5/ Reading 7.0/ Writing 7.5 / Speaking 6.5 (British Council)
Listening 7.0/ Reading 7.0/ Writing 7.0 / Speaking 7.5 (IDP)
I'm taking DELF A1/A2 next 2 weeks. Hope I pass A2.(used to study French 3 yrs during my high school but never used it since 2001, reviewing my books now......)
Given that I pass DELF A2, how many points I will get?
Most importantly, I'm not sure whether I can apply or not. I heard that I must either 1)get a job offer or 2)have work experience on the occupation in demand list or 3)study/work in Canada for 1 year. Otherwise I cannot apply? (Reference: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra.../apply-who.asp)
However, on another separate page, it's stated that Quebec can select their own immigrants????? So if my occupation is not on their list +never worked -studied there+no job offer???
Anyone could clarify on this confusion? Also, please advice if I should apply and my% of being granted the visa????
Thanks a million!!!!!

Start here:

But if your reason for taking Quebec route is either "a faster processing" or "easier selection process" compared to FSW program then you will be terribly disappointed. Without almost fluent French you have little or no chance to pass the interview.

DELF A2 would not give you any points for immigration purposes
B1 is classed as a Basic Knowledge, (Max 2 points). B2 is classed as a moderate knowledge of French.
For Quebec immigration, you would need a High B1 but preferably a B2 for DELF.
Canada has 12 levels for language proficiency.
A2 = 2 or 3, B1= 4 or 5, B2 =6 or 7.
If you are just doing a DELF A1/A2 now, you have a long way to go.
Studying full time (30 hours/week), it took my Daughter 9 months to get to the equivalent of a DELF B2. Doing it part time, think a few years.

It is true that you can move to Quebec without a job offer, but one of their overiding criteria is your language proficiency in French.
Quebec is worried about preserving their language. Their fear is that if they let you in without a degree of fluency, you would not be able to integrate into french speaking society.
Getting in is not your only priority, I am sure that you want to be able to work also, If you are not pretty fluent in French, you will find getting a job that much harder.
