Default Applying my elder sister visiting when my mum is sick in Canada

Dear all:

I have an urgent issue I wish that someone could give me a little
help.

My husband and I spoused my parents immigrant to Canada already. Just
this past Feburary, my parents got their maple leaf immigration cards.
No doubts that we are all very happy. I have two sisters (I am the
youngest one), the second one had immigranted to Canada with her
family (husband and daughter) 5 years ago. The reason that we spoused
my parents immigrant is because at that time, only my husband was
eligible for applying my parents. My another sister, on the other
hand, is still living in China with her husband (a business man) and
their lovely 6 year old son (2 years ago, they had tried to apply
business immigrant to Canada, but got denied).

Now, a very bad news from our family doctor after the full body exams
to my parents is that they found that my mum has breast cancer. After
all the x-rays, ultrasounds, we were sent to a surgeon, who works at
Toronto East General Hospital. The surgeon checked my mum, red the
x-rays, ultrasounds and whole body scan report, said that he was
almost 100 percent sure that my mum does have breast cancer where it
is in a critical stage at this point. And he booked an operation for
the middle of this April. Well, before the operation actually takes
place, he wanted to send my mum for a biopsy exam, which it takes
about 4-6 weeks to schedule an appointment.

This of course shocked everyone in the family, however, I am 5 months
pregnant, and couldn't let myself drown into tears. My second sister
and I decided to try to get our elder sister come here when my mum is
having the operation. Because my parents have been living very close
with my elder sister for many many years, and we thought it will be a
big comfort for my mum to see that she is not apart from her oldest
daughter and she has all her children beside her when she needs help
and comfort the most.

We will try to apply my elder sister and her family for visitor visa.
Before we actually fill in the form, I here have some questions to ask
all the experts or who knows about the questions, any help is very
very appreciated.

1. On application form, it shows a question "Have you or any member of
your family ever applied for any Canadian Immigration Visas), should
my elder sister fill in as Yes or No? She sure did apply to business
immigrant to Canada with her family 2 years ago, and got denied. But I
had heard that immigration centre only keeps records for about 1 year.

2. What other documentations should we hand in to assist the
application? We really want her to be here with my mum at this point.
At least till after the operation. My elder sister works for
Transportation department of the government in China, where she has a
very high position in the division. Her husband also owns his own
business, so I wouldn't think that they will give up all those to stay
here when the visa permitted period finished.

3. What is the chance for her and her family to get the Visa? Or only
herself?

Thank you very much for reading this long letter, please help me and
my family

Best regards,

Amy Song

The records on refusals are kept permanently. So she has to apply saying
yes, if she lies, it is basically an automatic refusal.

A letter from the Dr. stating your mothers illness and that an operation is
scheduled.

For her and the whole family, probably nil. Better chance for her alone.

Thanks very much PMM for your advice.

We will put an YES for the first question now. And for question number
three, I was wondering if we could apply for all of them, or it is a
stronger chance to just apply for her alone? You know that we want to
try to get all her family here since they had never been apart and
also her son is my mum's favorite grand child though.

Regards,

Amy

If all three apply after being refused PR, there is a very good chance that
they will be refused a visitor visa. Since they look at attachments to
country and all visitors are looked at as potential immigrants and with the
refusal and all family members applying for visitor visas, the chance are
slim. Much better if only the sister applies.
