Applying for citizenship - is my PR card a travel document
Hi all,
It has been a long time since I posted on here. I have just started to fill in the forms for applying for citizenship and I have a question about my travel documents. Is my PR card a travel document? If so, what is the number? Is it my ID number on the front or the number on the back in the top right hand side? I landed in February 2017 and have just crossed over the required number of days eligible. I have done the online physical presence calculator form and just need to get the main application form completed but this is holding me up. I have obviously included my UK passport as a travel document. Also, I heard there are delays with processing citizenship right now due to Covid. Can anyone confirm this. I am eager to get this application in asap in that case. Thanks friends! EDIT: I do not have language evidence but am obviously fluent in English. I presume this will be blatantly obvious as part of the application as I don't have a document stating this? |

No, your PR card is a PR card - your Passport is your travel document.
You must provide proof of English - there are specific instructions on how to do this :) https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpce...qnum=571&top=5 |
Re: Applying for citizenship - is my PR card a travel document
Thanks for replying. I'll have to seek a transcript from my university then in that case. Seems kinda bureaucratic by those are the hoops we have to jump through. Presume getting a pic will also be nigh on impossible right now.

There are no citizenship oaths or tests happening at the moment so they are likely to be backlogged whenever they resume. It does seem like IRCC are processing applications though.
