Congratulations. You need to sponsor your husband.

As someone else has noted, your husband will need a visa to migrate to Canada as your spouse. After 3 years in Canada, he'll be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.

As for your children, make sure they go through the hoops to retain their Canadian citizenship otherwise they risk losing it when they turn 28. It appears the retention of citizenship provisions apply to them:

Did their notification of grant of Canadian citizenship mention anything like this?

I have a leaflet about the kids and understand from it that they will lose citizenship at the age of 28 if they do not use it.

So as far as Sponsorship goes, how do I go about it?

Thank you,

It's not a case of 'using it' - it's a case of meeting the requirements for retention, making a formal application and having that application accepted.

Until they get a certificate from CIC proving they have met the requirements to retain citizenship, their Canadian citizenship is not secure. They could lose it at age 28 even if living in Canada, or having spent many years there.

[Thanks Guys
Sorry to appear a liitle dense , I have looked PROPERLY at the link and all I need to know is there , I think .

I have looked at what the children need to be done and that side shouldn`t be a proble as the criteria should be met , we got the appropriate form `retention of citizenship` - which applies to them .

Don`t worry , I`ll be asking more questions as they arise !

This is a great site , many thanks

Karen
