Default Application file number

Hey all,

I'm applying for perm res to Canada under spouse, my wife lives in Vancouver while i'm still in London UK waiting for an answer. I hired an immigration consultant to put together my application in which had been sent off sometime ago, my consultant told my wfe about six weeks ago we're now waiting for reciept of permanent resident application and file number. Can someone tell me how long it usually takes to recieve this information? i would have thought we'd have had some reply by now or am i just being impatient!!

Hi there

I'm in the same boat except that my spousal app went only two weeks ago to Mississuaga. I am expecting the whole process to take 6 months or less. I guess that I may be wrong on this but friends of ours went back to Vancouver (she canadian he Irish) and theirs took 5-6 months.

From what I gather the process for spousal apps is in two parts.

The first is in Mississuaga where your spouse is checked out for eligability. Then your app goes to London (if youre English that is). For some reason I am expecting it to be in Mississuaga for only a month although I can't remember why I think that.

Others know much more than I on here so maybe this will spark some thought.

Until then, the waiting game it is !

Yea, we've gone through the spousal part of the app, seems we're now waiting in London.

Takes them about a month. A lot of people said their AOR took a month and I got reply back after a month too. That is from CHC in London.
