Default Application Fees - clarification - please help.

Hi,
I am applying for Canadian PR through Canadian Consulate General Buffalo.

I wish to validate my understanding on the application fees.

From the Buffalo website, I see that a total of

a. Processing fee - US $465
b. RPRF - US $820

Total - US $1285.

must be paid in favour "Canadian Consulate General". As per the website,

Acceptable methods of payment: Money Order,Cashiers Cheque or Bank Draft
however I could not find Cashiers Cheque as a mode of payment in the Buffalo Visa office specific instruction list. (Pay by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the “Canadian Consulate General.
Do not enclose cash.)

I would like to confirm the following from those who applied through Buffalo:

1. I talked to my Bank and I was told that they only issue Cashiers Cheque for any amount more than US $1000. I wish to have your advice would it be ok to pay by Cashiers Cheque eventhough not listed in the Buffalo checklist.

2. Do we need to pay each of the above fees separately as two different
Cashiers Cheque or is it acceptable to pay one single Cashiers Cheque for the total payment.

Sorry that if this question is very rudimentary. I am little paranoid and wanted to have advice from the forum. Please help.

Thanks very much.

Depending on your bank there may be many different terms used. If you buy a bank check - called a draft or cashier's check or whatever- it will be accepted.
