Wow! Such great news for you guys! We went over on the IEC in 2012 in the hope all our processing would be done while we were out there but alas! So pleased you don't have to worry about it any more. We did our meds just before you so hoping ours is not too far down the list!
I'm sure you'll be getting yours very soon, especially if you had your meds before us! We used a consultant at it looks like it came through email so keep checking that junk folder!!

Yeah it was rubbish to have to come home! I remember crying on the plane! I can't believe we have been back for nearly two years. While we were over there, they changed the processing time on self-employment applications to 72months so we realised it was never going to happen in the 2 years the IEC gave us. In the end, it actually worked out ok. We came back, regrouped, had our lovely son and are now gearing up to move back to Toronto with bebe in tow! I feel like having done it once, we will really benefit from the IEC experience.
Thanks for the email tip. I don't really know what the next stage will look like for us. We paid our RPRF before the med request (strangely) and sent them bio pages and new pictures. I don't know if we will have to do that all over again or not? Been stalking the postman and my email inbox for weeks now!

I have my fingers crossed for you that you will get your COPR very soon! ...you're right, they may bypass the PPR if you have already sent the docs recently. They asked us for copies of each page in the passport and for PR passport photos (different to regular passports) and we had to complete an updated info page (passport details, eye colour & height, current mailing address) - not sure if that is any help to you in predicting what may happen next?!

who knows what they will ask for next! Its not like there is much consistency in any case. So glad yours came through in the nick of time and it is good to hear that its working well for you. We still have friends and contacts out in Toronto which means we are not starting from scratch but I imagine a more permanent move will involve us being more careful about decisions we make this time round (where to live, who to bank with etc etc). Desperately trying to save as much as we can before hopefully going over in the autumn!

Many thanks for all your responses and kind wishes
Meds done and I posted off today our latest Police Certs, a few updated forms and ... a banker's draft to cover the RPR Fee. Now the waiting starts again.

Hi All. To update, I have finally got my PR visas and am set bound to travel on Feb 4th. I plan to launch my immigration through Toronto and apply for necessary documents/cards from there. I have few queries in this regard, and would like to hear from others as well particularly who have launched their immigration in ON (Toronto):
1. What is the exact process at airport after landing?
2. What I know is that as step one Landing papers are checked/signed, PR card applied, SIN applied and health card applied; are all these procedures launched at airport at same time? is there anything else?
3. If not at the same time, in how much time can one get free with putting-up applications for these cards/documents?
4. Details of any expenses/fees involved at these application stages?
5. Is it compulsory to provide an ON based address or I can provide a Montreal address also?
6. Please elaborate any precautions or additional requirements to be ready with for these requirements?
Once I have applied for these documents, can I go to stay with my relatives in Montreal for 1-2 weeks?
Due to shortage of time, would appreciate some quick responses. Many thanks.
Regards,
Salman

SIN cards are applied for at Service Canada and you generally go into the office show docs and they will issue SIN and card will come in the post several weeks later. They will give you a printed sheet with SIN on.
Health card applied for by going to the provincial website. Just do a search for the province you plan on living in and you will more than likely have to print off application and copy supporting docs and post to them. Again card comes in the post several weeks later.

All still quiet here, we are keeping our fingers crossed for Med requests in March. I want to book a holiday over to BC, but keep holding off, telling myself we could be landing in the summer ( you have to keep positive! )

Hi all,
Our lawyers have just forwarded us an email from CIC to inform us that our COPRs have been issued and are in the mail! Only one week after they received our PPR, hurrah!!! E-cas still states 'in process'. Can't believe they worked so quickly - certainly not complaining! Really hope this is a sign that they are working quickly on everyone's files and that you lovely people who are left waiting for meds, PPR's etc. hear some news very soon!

I've just returned my updated police certificate, would be absolutely delighted with med requests in March - fingers crossed :-)
I've gone ahead and booked a holiday in Vancouver/Victoria in September. Hoping to land then but if not its not the end of the world . . .
