Default AOR in 8 days (CHC London)

We didn't think we'd get our AOR for at least 2 months after posting the application on 6th October 2005, but in a chance meeting with a neighbour, the subject of Canada came up and he said he'd received something for us but hadn't had the chance to drop it in and he would do so later.

We thought that if it was the AOR, then we were very lucky to get it in such a short time...but it got better. When the neighbour arrived later, it turns out he had held onto it for over 2 weeks...it was post-marked 13th and must have arrived a day later....just EIGHT days after posting.

I hope this is a good omen, but of course the letter still states to expect nothing for 36 months.

One step closer anyway...

Sorry, I know it is very rude to bump your own posts to the top, but we are genuinely curious to find out if 8 days from posting the application to receiving the AOR through CHC is unusual, or a sign that things are speeding up in London?

Comments welcome

It is only another indication of something close to chaos in many visa posts. Some applicants who applied to London got their AOR within weeks while many who filed at the same time received AOR after several months. Don't try to interpret it as sign of anything.

Sorry but it means absolutely nothing. We received our AOR within 10 days of posting our Application - still took the regular amount of time for us to be processed.

Sorry, doesn't really mean anything, we received AOR five days from posting application. That was a lifetime ago...

Hello M_and_J.

I received my AOR after just 7 days Yet it still took 2 years to complete the process.

Just keep your fingers crossed, you never know it may be sooner?

Afraid you can only take it for what it is. That is that CHC have received your application. We received ours within 5days and the whole process still took about 18 months. One step closer anyway.
