Hi,
I applied in March but received the assesment and have to wait for 6
months for medicals. I want to know that the medicals should be done
after the completion of 6 month or little before completion. I too
have interview waiver. I dont know its nationality dependent or
otherwise. But, mostly most of our friends who had applied in Dec, Jan
and Feb 2001 and 2002 have got interview waiver and wait for medicals
for 6 months. All are indian nationals.

thanks
goodgal

Hi Jasleen,

Congratulations ! I have a small doubt here. Thing is: CIC website of Buffalo post displays that they are currently processing the applications that were received in Feb 2002 (maybe the site is not updated yet). I am wondering how come you got the initial assessment letter, while the applicants who have applied in Jan/Feb 2002 are still waiting for them (at least some of them). I am sure that each case is unique, but there should be some criterion to follow.

As far as your medical question: Many experts (in the forum)have earlier advised to wait for six months before doing medicals. However, some people said that there is nothing harm if you do your medicals slightly earlier than the siad period (may be one month or so).

Coming to the nationality: someone here in the forum opined that the wait period is to allow the CIC authorities to complete the background checks. If you have done medicals early, and your background check is not concluded, then you may have to redo the medicals . Perhaps, that might be the reason why they ask the applicants to wait for six months period.

I have few questions for you. Hope you will respond at your convenient time.

Could you pl tell me that when did your ecleint start working?

What was the time gap between the start of eclient status and the receipt of the initial assessment letter?

Did you submit your IELTS?

Sorry for the long list.

I am from Hong Kong, but presently in Toronto (since April 1998) and
holding student visa. Also, I have finished bachelor degree in Canada.
