does anyone have any info on the following, please:
1) is there any type of medical cover from the state in canada if you are not employed? (eg in the UK everyone under 18 years old gets free medicines, free doctor's consultations, free surgery or hospital stays,etc)
2) what is the typical unemployment benefit rate? (in the UK, we can get around C$200-400 a week, depending on dependents etc)
3) if you get fired from a job, is the company reqd by law, to pay you some form of ex gratia payment?( in the UK, the min government rule is 1 week's pay for every year worked, so if you have worked for 10 years, then you will get 10 weeks payment)
4) is the work regime the same as in the usa, ie work till you drop, 2 weeks annual vacation, and no help if you are out of work?
any useful advice will be very handy. thanks a lot!
