Anybody used Canada post 'xpresspost' to ship their applications? They told me it was their most secure, fastest way to deliver something within a province..supposedly next business day, well..I sent mine on the 12th Jan and its been 'out for delivery' according to their tracking app since the 13th

I'm not sure what Canada Post means by "Xpress" I recently sent something to the US with this method and it didn't leave Calgary for a couple of days and took longer than the 2 to 3 business days they advertise. I didn't complain as the package arrived.
This month I had a small packet sent express and it took a day longer than the tracking said.
So basically add a day or two to the timescale they advertise.
Don't know if you can complain and get some money back. I decided not to.

That's why I didn't complain as I was more concerned about the documents arriving than the time frame.

If you want an alternative for use in future, I highly recommend Fedex International Ground, you can send it from FedEx Kinko's - keep in mind a lot of fedex resellers won't do it though you have to go to Kinko's. Cost me just over $15 to send some documents last time and although it takes a bit longer I trust FedEx infinitely more than Canada Post.

Sounds perfectly normal for Canada Post tbh - Royal Mail is a dream in comparison!
I ditto the Fedex suggestion, it's not much more but well worth it for peace and mind and the full tracking you get for something so important.
it arrives soon.

I sent a form last Tuesday (10 Jan) to the UK, needed to be there by Friday (13 Jan) at the latest. The local post office where I live in Ontario said it would have to go express/priority $73.44 please - how much!?! Just an A4 sheet of paper. Reluctantly I paid. Its still not arrived, have got a refund this morning, someone has changed the address on it?? not sure whether that happened in the UK or here. Its now been tracked down, the original address back on the darned thing and delivered tomorrow. Should have posted it normal mail, $2.03, would have got there by now.....

lol ..things in Canada takes it's time..no stress?
Agree, got to add a few extra days to what "xpress" is suppose to be. I got told when it comes to a delivery outside the country it is fedex doing that for Canada Post, if you want it priority (but it does have rather Canada Post speed it seems)

So I finally got the confirmation it arrived... I sent it on the 12th, and it did in fact arrive on the 13th, but they didnt update the tracking/send me a confirmation of delivery email until the 17th. Whats the point in having such a 'live' tracking system if thats how they use it??

Hurrah my letter has arrived this morning in the UK, took 8 days rather than the priority 2-3 days costing $73. Have been refunded but have to say it was FedEx's fault and not Canada Post, although it was Canada Post who refunded me the money. Was informed that Canada is a big country and to expect delays!?! Why offer a guaranteed service then? However by the looks of things it was the fault of the UK. So +1 for Canada.
