Default Another landing question...

Sorry, I have another landing question. We are nearly ready to submit our sponsorship application and are planning to "land" when we get the ok to do so. The plan is to land for 2 weeks and then return to UK for the next 6 months to get everything else sorted (ie house) and also to give hubby a chance to look for work since he will then have PR status and hopefully be able to start applying for jobs. When we do land do we just tell immigration that we are only here for 2 weeks (they will obviously see that from our airline tickets) in order for husband to land and get PR before visa runs out and to start establishing a life in Canada before we make the move permanent?

No need to tell them, when you "land" you are just completing/finalising the PR process, from then on you can come and go as you please but you do need to be in canada 2 out of 5 yrs to maintain PR status.

Thanks, so when we land we just tell them we are completing the PR process - is immigration ok with this? I feel somehow that we are cheating. We hope to be permanently back in Canada after 6 months (hopefully everything will progress smoothly with the house and other final arrangements). We are also trying to to time the final move with school holidays so as to make the transition for the kids as stress-free as possible.

Yes, thats exactly what you do. Don't feel as if you are cheating, you are not. Lots of people "land" and return to "tie up loose ends"
