Default Andrew Miller and all the other gurus please advise

Hi all

I applied to Buffalo from the US on dec 2001

Got my file no. on 28th Jan 2002

I had sent in ROLF and finger prints at that time only ( i.e in dec
2001). After that I got a letter saying that it will take 40-50 weeks
for the process. It is past 50 weeks now, and still nothing. The
status on the online status check says "In Process" now.

What is the initial assessment stage, is it that ask for the ROLF and
finger prints in it? Is it possible that I did not receive any
assessment as I had sent in everything in the beginning only.

I am kind of nervous, so please help by answering back.

Thanks in advance

You may be going to be assessed under the new rules. Otherwise you should
have received an interview letter by now. They will write to you and give
you some idea of what new information they require and whether or not they
would require a language test etc.

Buffalo is currently assessing applications received in November and
December of 2001, so your assessment notice should arrive within next month
or two.

Jim,

I applied in Oct 2001, and recently recieved a letter from LA office to appear for the interview on April 23, 2003, nothing is mentioned about the new law in the letter, they did not ask me to produce any further documents except FBI and local police clearance certificates,
does this mean that my case will be assessed under the old law ?I am pretty sure I will not qualify under the new one but I am equally confident to qualify under the old selection criteria.

Should I be this optimistic ?

Will really appreciate your response....thanx

-Alvin
