thanks everyone for your help, you've all been awesome!

one last question for the moment! does anyone know if i apply as a LPN and they decide I'm a registered nurse and get refused do I lose my visa fee?

Depends at what stage they decide you don't qualify - it it's at CIO Sydney then you'd get the fees back, but once it's transferred to the visa office you'd lose them if refused.
