Hi,

Just wanted to say that we've finally got our application off.

At the end of last year we decided to go on the Skilled Worker route aiming to live in NS. Then as we were waiting for documents to complete our application, we found out my wife was pregnant with our first baby. I asked back in January 2005 how this would effect our application and some "expert" claimed wait until the baby is born as when we informed London of the birth they would add the baby but then put our application to the bottom of the pile again!

We listened to them but fortunately that has been a stroke of luck even though the advice was bad. It was lucky because whilst trawling the web sites and looking into NS more, I discovered the PNP programs. We've decided and now submitted an application under a PNP and are waiting (fingers, legs and everything else crossed) to hear if I will be offered an interview. Hopefully we should get some news in the next 4 wks or so.

So now we are in the same boat as so many others and just waiting, waiting waiting. Good luck with your applications everyone.

We both really like Nova Scotia - the area, the position, the people, the things to do there. Plus not too far for family and friends to visit from the UK.

PNP is Provincal Nominee Programme.

Thanks, I did mention NS halifax in my application but I was not sure about the place as I did got some presentation about canadian immigration some years ago and they did mention ath NS is a good place for new immigrants as its becoming an industrial and economic center for that region. Any how good luck with your application.

Hi Chinny

What is your occupation, if you don't mind me asking? We are considering NS but don't fancy the 3.5 year wait as we want to start a family.

Many thanks

T.

Hi,

I've got a Software Engineering degree but I've had my own business(s) for a number fo years. I still ejoying developing software (specialise in Windows CE and web applications). I've also setup a property business (residential, commercial and land). I enjoy lots of things and wouldn't rule out doing something completely away from IT.

We're doing the economic route where you invest in a business and use your management/business experience to hopefully help the NS business grow.

Best regards,
Paul

Many thanks for you reply Paul. The business option is not open to us, but we'll carry on looking anyway.

Hope it all works out for the best for you

Best wishes
