Default AINP update - Family Strean and US Visa Holders

Update for anyone who has applied under the AINP (Family Stream or US Visa Holder category) as of August 23rd 2010.

http://www.alberta-canada.com/immigr...ting/ainp.html

In summary, all applications received after August 23rd will be returned. All applications received before August 23rd will be processed under their usual rules however any errors with the forms or any incomplete applications will mean your application is returned and you cannot reapply.

One can safely assume the programme is overwhelmed by applicants. Alberta is only allowed to nominate 5,000 people per year so restricting the Family Stream (temporarily they say) is one way to deal with it. Skilled Workers, International Students, Self-employed farmers... i.e. all other categories are still being accepted.

Note the processing times, 54 months for family stream 28 months for H1 applicants.
