Default Age points can be updated ?

Hello Experts ...!!
I am applying for Canadian Immigration. I have only 65 points. But my age is under 21 for now so I have only 8 points for age factor.
I am going to be 21 in coming December. I know I can apply for immigration under age of 21 but my question is "Can I update my age points from 8 to 10 after when I will complete my 21 years in December?
I mean Can I claim 10 points for age rite now ? So I will have 67 points in December.
I do not want to waste 6 months so it can make my immigration faster.
However, I am told by someone that CIC officer will consider your age according to the date when you apply for immigration and you can not update your age points later.

Thanks in Advance

Hi there,

In your shoes I would make sure my covering letter very clearly outlined the date issue and flag this up clearly to CIC. This cannot hurt your application any. The covering letter is like a summary of the supporting reasons why you feel you will make a successful, well adapted easily settled skilled worker - it's not 'mandatory' but can easily be ommitted or forgotten if applicants think the 'minimum requirements' are just the standard CIC list of documents and info.

With 24 month waiting times, large numbers of applicants (depite the continued waiting times, people still see Canada as a very desirable destination, and waiting time only seems to have a marginal negative impact on numbers) and occasionally fussy controls, so be sure your case is 100% clear.

Good luck,

Rich.

Your age is "locked-in" at time of application.Better wait till December.

CIC won't review application in full (apart from paper screen to check all doc's are present) until at last 9 months if not 12 months after AOR ? What a complete nonsense !

I guess if someone dies after AOR this would make no difference either ?

Note to CIC: time moves on weeks/months/years pass by during the time of the long big PR sleep. Get with the program ! people get new qualifications, go on research trips, get married, get job offers, all relevant, oh and have birthdays also. Complete cobblers !

Personally I would still apply and hope that common sense prevails at CIC sometime during 2006.

Rich.
