Default After landing in Canada

Hello,

My process of getting immigration visa under skilled worker class is almost done, As I got the request for passport to be sent to Embassy in London.

I am currently in Ireland, will be going to Canada soon when I get my visas stamped, My question is that once I land in Canada Can I go to USA for a few days before my PR Arrives or I would have to stay in Canada until I get my PR card (I have already got valid visitor Visa for USA) or other option would be that from Ireland I first go to USA stay there sometime and then Drive To Canada, Would there be any immigration issues with that?

regards,

San

Go to US first, then land in Canada. You can choose to Land
(Immigrate) either by driving accross the border from the US or flying
into any airport in Canada(except of course Quebec). You will have no
issues in doing that.

But should you land in Canada and then decide to go to US. You will
have to wait for your PR Card before you leave for the US (this approx
takes about 3-4 weeks atleast).

My choice would be visit US before arriving in Canada and once you are
in Canada, begin working on starting out your new life there.

All the Best !!!

And why not Quebec? Quebec is also [part of] "Canada", AFAIK.

Because people who want to immigrate directly to Quebec
must also get approval from the Quebec government.
If someone attempts to land at a port of entry in the province of
Quebec without Quebec approval, he has the burden of showing
that he does NOT intend to remain in Quebec, and that he
does intend to proceed on to another province.

So, while it is not 100% forbidden to land in Quebec, if you really
do intend to continue on to another province, you should
have some convincing evidence that you are proceeding
to some other province.
