Question AEO how long tied to employer

Hi all,
New to this site.
Applied via FSW Jan2006, London, so have waited quite a while already in the queue, hubby has just got a job offer from a plumbing & heating firm in Nova Scotia, who are filling out AEO form ready to send off to HRSDC. Would like to know that if it is successful and we can add it to our PR application would hubby be tied to the employer upon landing for any length of time? Asking this as worried that if it doesn't work out and we only got over quicker through employer, whether this will affect our status as permanent residents?

If you are going on temp visa, then you are until your PR comes through

If your OH leaves the firm then he will need a new LMO for his New job.
PNP is different, but if you have a read through wiki articles above it will advise the different ways that you can work etc

Welcome to the forum, please give us more info in the meet and greet area

Gill

Question Re: AEO how long tied to employer

Not planning on going LMO temporary route as have already waited nearly 2 years, want to come over permanent from day 1. The employer is aware that hubby can't work for him until permanent residence is complete, just want to know if there is any time limit that you would have to work for a company that applies for an AEO and you end up being fast tracked, subsequently work for them, then mabey want to work for another company? Hopefully it will work out and everyone is happy, just wanted to check incase hubby does not like job and wants to change.

Trying using the search button above and see if they tie you to an employer

We have been offered this route and have been advised 3yrs before we can look at a new employer. i would rather go on temp and move if unhappy, but you need to look into this before excepting offers.
There is a few on the search list who has excepted, have a read of there posts, very interesting

Your question just proves that visa posts are correct doing deep investigation into AEO's and reject many of them as a result.

On the other hand, working already in Canada on valid work permit and using this as Arranged Employment is always accepted (as long as properly supported by required evidence).

FAO Andrew Miller

Thanks for reply but you haven't answered my question, would hubby be tied to employer for any length of time or not?
It is an innocent question from someone who likes to cover all eventualities, you sound suspicious of my motives.

My understanding is that once you get your PR, you are no longer tied into any job and can move if you like.

There is the moral issue of giving some service to the employer who facilitated you more, but I suppose that if you were really miserable you could be forgiven for this not being your top priority.

No doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong.

No, immigrant and employer have no obligations at all. This is main reason why AOE's are investigated and many refused by visa posts.
