Question Advice please (skilled worker points)

Hello, Just wanted to ask some advice hope someone can help?

I was wondering if there is a way of finding out exactly how many points I would get if I applied for PR through the skilled worker category? Even if I have to pay a small fee to find out? I have looked on the CIC website but not sure if I'm answering all the questions correctly especially the bit about qualifications (long story) at the moment I "think" I get currently 67 points which isn't enough to apply so I was then going to try and find a job, go over on a WP then I should have enough points to qualify. Does this sound right or does anyone think I should apply now and see what hapens? I was going to apply for jobs now?? If I knew I didn't have enough and still points and still applied would they throw my case out straight away? Confused

Emma,

As long as you can meet minimum criteria to apply then it is a good idea to apply and later after you get to Canada on work permit to update your application and move it to fast track processing. It is not as simple as it may sound, but it is not impossible either.

You may contact me directly for free evaluation of your chances and possible options - simply click on my name to the left and select "Send email to..."

But having 67 points (or even 90+ points for that matter) doesn't guarantee approval.

So if I applied I would find out fairy quickly if I had enough points to carry on or would I have to wait ages to find that out, I didn't think 67 was enough?

67 is enough to apply, but it's not a guarantee that they'll let you in.

Emma, I'm still waiting for your assessment form.

And no, you won't find quickly anything - it will take years to get approved or refused.

67 points is a current pass mark - the danger of applying with such low score is that current law makes any changes to pass mark applied not only to new applications but also retroactively to all still pending cases. And sooner or later pass mark will go up. There are ways to deal with that problem though.
