advice needed! application returned
 

hi all, my application was sent back because my credit card declined. bank reissued my card 2 weeks after my application due to someone trying to fraudulently use it. i sent though the forms again at that point with new c card details. can i resubmit (again!) with correct card details attaching letter or will date of new list of jobs count against me as my job accountant was taken off the list?? i'm hoping this is not the end of our dream :( :(

I'm really sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you'd have to start from scratch I'm afraid, which means you'd no longer be eligible as SW without a job offer.

However, CIC are supposed to be process applications with 'procedural fairness' (or something similar), which they don't seem to have done with yours and other cases recently. They're obviously trying to find any reason at all to refuse people whose job is no longer on the list - normally, they would contact you to say that they couldn't take payment and ask for another method first, but they've not done it with you and somebody else I know of.

So it may be worth sending a letter trying to fight it. Get something in writing from your card company stating that it wasn't your fault the card was declined etc, and look up the 'procedural fairness' malarkey to quote at them.

thanks for replies folks, went home there to pick up letter to get some more details.....i sent original application in feb this year. going on other peoples timescales i'd heard nothing back so assumed they lost it and resent it 25th may as knew changes were imminent......then bank reissued my credit card so resent application again june 8th.....looking at the letter its my feb application which rejected.......so thats got me thinking they're just totally backlogged and i'm due another rejection and my final app from june 8th should still be ok....is there a limit to number of applications you can submit as obviously its extremely annoying for them to deal with me numerous times?? feel sick here at thought of it all being over :(

That's more hopeful then, if it was your original application that was rejected, then hopefully the second one will go through.

Make sure you've got plenty of funds on that card, and notify them that a large payment may be taken from Canada (one of the cases I know of that has just been rejected was because the applicant's bank refused the payment as they suspected it was fraudulent - CIC have now rejected them and they are no longer on 'the list').

I am very sorry to hear this...

In these cases, do we have to send again the whole application with all documents or just to send a letter?. I am about to apply and if somehow the bank this is a fraudulent charge they can reject it.

I think it most likely that all three applications would have been n the same file so it looks to me that there is no hope at this time without a job offer.

Really? Even though the last application had a different credit card number - or would they not look at things in that great a detail and refuse all the applications?

What they do is enter the names, DOBs and a file number in their computer and a search is done for previous applications any where in the world. That is the first step of file creation.
