Default Advice on education/work

I'm trying to put together a 5 year plan to achieve PR. I'm trying to
find
out what specific occupations/educations I should choose?? Has to be
non-university, so that limits my possibilities. Any ideas what
occupation/education
Canada will be needing in the near future?? Any websites that offer
any insight in this??
Thanks, Heinrich

I do not know what line you are in presently, so this may not be of
any help at all; BUT my cousin who is looking to emigrate to Canada
tells me that tool and die machinists are exempted from the normal
HRDC requirements when it comes to employing foreigners. Apparently,
this only applies in Ontario because there is a shortage and/or many
of them are retiring. This means that Ontario employers can give you a
job offer without the usual HRDC hassles. On getting the job offer,
you can then get a work permit to work in Canada. I think there is
some way of converting that to PR later on. Please search on the HRDC
and CIC websites to confirm the above.
