You were born IN Canada - therefore it's you that will need to apply.. the part about passing on your Canadian Citizenship applies to any children YOU have

No, i was born in the UK. my mother was born in Canada!

Ah, well hopefully i can obtain my citizenship and a passport when applying for a proof of citizenship form, i'd have to apply for myself right and not my mother?

Exactly. The post was directed at me and my father wasn't Canadian - but even the OP doesn't have a Canadian father, it was her mother that was born there. Hence my confusion at that statement!

Yes. You are already a Canadian citizen by descent but you need to prove this by applying for your citizenship certificate. Once received you can then use this to apply for your first Canadian passport.
