Default Adding a new baby to application

Hi,

We've just have just had our medicals however my wife didnt complete the chest X-ray as she is 6 weeks pregnant, as I understand it you can add your baby on once he/she is born and then get your passport requests and land.

My question is how long does it take from having the baby to getting the process complete and being able to land? If anyone has gone through this process and can share that would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

You will not get approval of your visas until your wife takes the x-ray and it appears therefore that you may all have to repeat it as the pregnancy is in the early stages. To add the child you will have to send copies of the birth certificate, payment of an additional C$150 for processing and a copy of the baby's passport ll within a few months of the validity of the first set of medicals. This may make it impossible to complete all that before new medicals are required and probably updated police certificates. All in all a pain in the B***.

Would it be possible for my wife to have the xray in 5 weeks so she's then past the 12 week mark, have it added to our file so that it can be processed in time to have the baby in canada?

Yes, but it is a decision between her and her Dr.

It's funny that you should point out the obvious as we've been discussing it already

My friend was pregnant when they had their medicals....she did not have a chest x-ray (ever) and had the baby 2 months after they landed.

We have just received our request for medicals, and my wife is due to give birth any day now. (We're on a skilled workers application for PR)

The Doctors Surgery website where we can get medicals in London (UK), mentions that infants under four get a basic health check too. Do they need a IMM1017 too? Can't seem to find clear info on this elsewhere.

However, the clear procedure above suggests that IMM1017, (the photo Medical report) is not required for a newborn. So is it just a question of adding an updated family members form and application form (?) together with the fee, along with ourmedicals?

Jim, if you're out there, we could do with your sage advice.

Thanks,
Pdiddy

Your new child will require a form but no X-ray and fairly simple exam. It is a must, so request a form for the child when you send in the birth certificate, passport copy and extra fee.
