Default Activating PR with a renewed passport?

Hi all, quick question for the experts here.

I have the CoPR for all 4 of my family members, we are going to cross a land border and come back to activate. 2 of us have renewed passports since the CoPR was issued. I have the old and new passports for both. Can I still activate the PR at the border or do I have to apply for a new CoPR?

Googling suggests as long as I have the old passport it will be ok but just want to be sure..

Thanks

You can still do the landing just tell the CBSA officer about the passport change and have both passports on you.
