Default 5 months since medicals - should I hassle London

Its nearly 5 months since we had our medicals. Our immigration man sent London a case specific email on Jan 14th asking if our file could be finalised, only to get a standard - its waiting for an IO to review.

Should we get him to send another one? its almost 5 months, what can they be waiting for?

I think rather than asking "can it be finalised", it might have been better to ask "do you need anything else from us?".

That was the advice given to an audience at an emigration show by an Canadian Immigration Officer. He explained dont ask them why they have not done anything, rather, do we need to provde anything else.

In my case, we asked that question one month after additional medical notes on my wife was submitted. We got Passport requests back as the response. (this may have been a fluke)

I would get on to your Immigration guy and have him chase them bi-weekly until they cough them up.

I am using that tactic on my own case at the moment...lets hope it pays off and we both get our PPRS!
