Default 32 year old looking for Canada move.

Hi,

My name is Andy, I'm a 32 year old English Citizen looking for some advice and help on how to move me and my family to Canada. I currently work for a leading manufacture of Race Cars as a Team Leader, we build and ship GT4 and GT3 cars to customer teams around the world. My other employment experience comes from working for a Formula 1 team as a mechanic for various Formula 1 World Champions. I have qualifications from apprentice level as a vehicle technician for BMW.

I have been married for nearly 7 years, and have 2 children under 5. My wife has experience working in various roles within aviation, motor racing and the automotive industry. She has worked as a team manager, sales admin and PA.

We are looking to fully immigrate to Canada, we want to move and setup a new life there, nothing temporary. Ideally we are looking at BC as our desired destination.

Any help/advice would really be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, and welcome to BE (from an ex-F1 employee!).

You'll need to start with visas, this is the official eligibility test -https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...nada-tool.html

If that says you may be eligible to apply via Express Entry, then that's great as it means you qualify and can apply to enter the Express Entry 'pool' of applicants. But once in that pool, only those scoring the highest on the CRS are selected and invited to apply for PR, you can check your score for that here - https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigr...d/crs-tool.asp

You'll need above approx 450 as a rough guide. If you're asked about score for an English test, just guess at your level for now, it's only to give you an idea, and note that your apprenticeship qualifications won't count for any points unfortunately (only academic qualifications can be assessed for points purposes i.e. degree/masters). There are lots of other visa routes too, but that's the quickest and easiest way for most, so check that first and let us know what they both say.
