2012 fed skilled worker updates

Hi all,

Sorry if I am asking a dumb / obvious question.

But in preparation for this sending in years application, I have a little doubt as to when the criteria for the forms are updated?

What I mean is, CIC tell you on there website to keep checking to ensure you are sending the most up to date forms, using the latest information, NOC etc etc

But when will this years noc, or forms be updated on the CIC website?

If the 'floodgates' / date for fed skilled worker applications is open on July 2nd(is that right?) then can CIC change the forms or anything in relation to the application say, 30th June???

Wouldnt surprise me to be honest.... Sorry, thats the bitterness of being messed around coming outof me! :o

Hope someone can help

The new quota opens on 1st July, not 2nd July, and yes, unfortunately CIC can change the forms anytime they like.

So prepare everything you can, but then on the 1st July make sure that the job you plan to apply under is still on 'the list' (unless they change 'the list' prior to that date of course, as they did last time i.e. a few days before), and check that the forms are still the same.

Good luck.

:)

thanks for reply,

oh well, I suppose that rules out my theory / idea of organising a courier to send / get the package delivered ON the 1st July?

So most people wait until that date?, or do they send it a few days before (taking the chance nothing changes..)

As there is such a 'fight' for places in the occupation list , you would think getting your form sent in perfect time, ready to pop through the CIC letterbox the morning of the 1st?.... ;)

Generally you should courier off on the friday, ready for your pack to land on CIO's reception desk on the 2nd, when they re-open after Canada Day.

You could plan a holiday covering the 1st July and hand deliver in person... but perhaps that's taking it too far :)

Well seeing as the 1st July (Canada Day) is on a Sunday and normally offices would be closed anyway will the staff be taking the 2nd July (Monday) off as the Stat Holiday for Canadians thereby only opening up on Tuesday 3rd July?
Thats gonna be a big stack of courier envelopes to deliver and be signed for.
Anybody want to place a bet that the receptionist phones in sick that day

Surely Id want to send my application a few days prior to the 1st July? (or monday the 2nd, as someone has stated the 1st is a sunday anyway)

Is it common then for the 'thousands' of applicants to wait til the 1st, incase anything changes, AND THEN send it away?
Risking your application being the 501st 'recieved'!!

Or do people send it a few days before, so its the first thing the lovely CIC receptionist sets eyes on when she / he steps through the door!! :)

I thought I found something that indicated 3152 filled up on 19 Jul? Can't find it now. When are you permitted to initiate the barcodes on the application, is this permitted when the NOC codes have not been announced?

What is your NOC? I can bet you NOC 1122 will get filled up on the first working day of July 2012.

Hello all... My girlfriend is a Social Worker (Team Manager), we are considering applying this year if it is still on NOC, I am very new to BE, anyone know how long they have been after Social Workers, gives an idea if it will continue... It's a shame Calgary and Edmonton have put their IR for Police on hold as I would have applied for that...
