Re: 2007 queue - where are we up to?

That would be good thanks! :D

Doesn't sound like we have too much more to get together though thankfully. It is Hubbie as main applicant and he has worked for the same co since he was 16 and we havent told them yet about the app so will get that sorted when letter arrives. All our certificates are together as are both of our education certificates. Funds are ready and waiting in the bank.

I've given up stressing about all this now other wise I just cant cope with still being here and getting no further will all of this.

The only major thing I know we still need to get is Proof of Aunties residence in Canada but as far as I know that has to be recent stuff!

Thanks again :D

Nothing here. I'm an August 2007 AOR. Looking at the trackit site, there seems to be a shortening gap between the date in which the application was sent and the actual AOR date between applications sent at the start of 2007 and applications sent in August 2007 (by which point the gap is only a couple of weeks). I'm not sure wether or not this has anything to do with the current slow down. It is probably more likely a quota thing. Either way, I'm not expecting to hear anything until the very end of the year. A shame really, because early this year, it seemed like they had sped up a little...

Thanks for replying bodgerx, thats what we thought, AOR is April 07 looks like some may and June have already been sent, maybe our allocated officer is on a go slow ;) oh well it will happen when it does so no point stressing about it all,

We are still sorting the house to market it, so in no hurry at the moment and will go with work if need be. must admit everytime we get a brown envelope in the post i do look quickly just in case :D good luck with yours

Re: 2007 queue - where are we up to?

We applied Sept 06, AOR Apr 07 (so I flit between 2006/2007 application processing times lol).
120 day received Mar 09, docs returned 23 Apr 09.
Awaiting med requests...

I have no idea whether they are going by date of application or AOR tbh - I think we were one of the first SA in the queue though - not by design, we had hoped to catch the tail-end of the full app process...

We don't want our med requests for at least another two months  how picky are we? Given that we were told 36 -48 month wait until our application would be looked at, I think they are moving pretty quickly lol...

Today, the day BEFORE we fly to Canada for 6 weeks, we received our update letter. Fortunately we have 120 days to return supporting docs, until 17/11/09.

I've really got my work cut out for me now haven't I? Despite our now rather slim chances......I'm not going to withdraw our application because what will be will be and I would regret not giving our chances a go.

At least I can get my proof of having a relative living in Canada directly rather than through the post! :)

Fortune favours the brave!

Back up everything you can!

In your cover letter spin any negatives into positives saying that they will either help you adapt to life in Canada or will not impact your chances of success there!

Also be very clear that they should call you with any questions so you know asap if they have any possible objections.

Good luck

Re: 2007 queue - where are we up to?

Don't worry Robin, we received our med requests at the most inconvenient time possible as well... (see my earlier post on this thread saying 'we don't want our med requests' lol)

We fly to Canada for 2 years on 3 Aug. Meds have to be done by 17 Aug. We can't get them done here as we know there is a high likelihood of 'call-back'... so have spent last two weeks trying to find med appointment between 4 and 16 Aug within driving distance of the Hat... No appointments available until mid september in the Hat, so we've managed to find someone in Calgary...

It seems a little odd to be planning to go for medicals when we are all jet-lagged and stressed at being half way through an international move with three kids lol, but beggars can't be choosers....

Enjoy your trip! When you get back all your paperwork will be neatly filed on your doormat for you to collate and stick in an enveleope. It will be fine!
