Default 120 day letter - what if you need more time?

Hi
Does anybody know what happens if when you get the 120 day letter you do't get all the info back in time?
I'm the eternal pessimist with these sort of things so am worrying about this...

If you don't submit anything it'll be assumed you've lost interest and your file will
be closed. If you genuinely need more time you can write to them and ask for an extension.

Read this Operational Bulletin which is used as a manual for the visa officers.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resourc...2009/ob120.asp

This manual covers not only the request for extensions (will not be granted under the new process!!!) but also the question of how to deal with incomplete submissions!
