********** offer of employment
Hi,
I've read a lot of threads questioning various job offers for trades in Vancouver with a 2 year temporary visa - does anyone know if it is genuine or a scam?
My boyfriend has been offered a carpentry job through ******** and I just wondered if anyone here has gone to Canada through them??
Thanks for your help

Hi bexstar,
Firstly, welcome to BE.
Secondly, I think you got the answer to your own question when the company name you mentioned got the *********** treatment by the BE website.
However, there do appear to be a number of carpentry success stories on BE so do perservere.
Kind regards,
Eamonn

Re: ********** offer of employment
I've read a few threads about this company and they are a few members on here who have gone through them and been out there for a few months, so it seems legit xx

Re: ********** offer of employment
When you get to the border you have to pay the immigration officer $150 for the work permit. It doesn't matter if you have already paid the agency, you can't get out of this $150 fee.
So the con is in the agency saying that you only pay fees for work permits.

Hi bexstar - we may be wrong...always happy to bow to those that have direct experience and who say all is well. Just make sure you don't end up paying someone to find you a job - you can do that yourself and with the help of Expats and other resources, for free.
Kind regards,
Eamonn and Janet.

It's not often you hear London and Huddersfield in the same sentence that's for sure!
