Default What to do on Christmas day?

Hi there,

I just wanted to get some ideas of what to do over the Christmas period as I will be here in Budapest on my own I am hoping that my friend will be joining me towards the end of this month - but in the mean time I am looking for ideas until my friend gets here. Plus since I have only been living here for a few months, my Hungarian is pretty basic and I have no idea whether shops/museums/ attractions will be open over this period or not? Or will the public transport be running? What about New Years Eve, will public transport be running after midnight - I know in London the underground is free and then it stays open till the early hours of the morning for party lovers. I am not sure if I will be brave enough to venture out either as I have no idea how expensive things will be, but again I am guessing that prices do go up on these occasions?

Any tips would be great! Merry Christmas in advance!!

Hi Shimshim and a belated welcome to the BE forums. Hopefully Shotgun has pointed you in the right direction and you now have plans for an excellent Xmas in Budapest?
