Vet

We've just moved to Zala near zalapaati, can anyone recommend a good English speaking Vet for our dog please? I want to know where one is in case of an emergency.

Try a google search of "Allatorvos Zala" as it should bring up a list of the vets in your area.

I think you'll find that many of the younger vets speak good English. The vet I use in Miskolc has two who's English is excellent and one of them is a Shar-Pei specialist (the breed of one of my dogs).

Don't forget that you'll not only need a vet for emergencies but also for your dog's Rabies vaccination which is compulsory in Hungary and needs to be done annually!

Hope that helps!

Re: Vet

There's young female vet in Hévíz who has her office just across from the Magyar Csarda. She speaks some English and German and is very nice to the dogs and cats etc ...

Re vaccinations:
We just got a paper from our Mayor, the vet is doing these in the village on three dates - costs around 5000 HUF.
