Default Unlocked Phone?

It looks like I will have to buy a new mobile phone, as the battery is not holding charge in my beaten up old wreck of a phone. I need to either buy an unlocked phone or buy one and get it unlocked. How easy is this in Hungary?

In Pecs where there is a large foreign student population mobile phone shops abound and will do anything, Just as copyright does not exist here and photocopying is a major business.

You shouldn't have a problem.

I bought my first mobile from T-Home seven years ago when I first came to live in Hungary and before I had my residence permit.

My second mobile I bought from Pannon in my local town about 5 years ago.

The little kiosk in Tesco, just to the left of the ice cream stand does, I think, sell second hand phones and will be able to sort out a sim for you.

A year or so ago, we bought my DD an unlocked phone from Ebay in the UK and I'm not sure why but no matter what we did, she couldn't get online and had problems sending text. It wasn't the phone as it works perfectly in the UK.
