Tree Identification

Tree Identification
For the last couple of weeks I've been seeing some trees with very attractive blossom and I would like to identify them so I can hopefully buy one. I've been very busy lately but took the time today to take a photo, before it's too late. It is past its best but hopefully someone will be able to identify it. I wondered if it's some kind of magnolia?

Thanks RH. I also asked on Facebook and it seems my sister-in-law has one. She did not know the variety but the nearest I can find is a black tulip magnolia from New Zealand:

Re: Tree Identification
Hi, Going by the length of the blooms and what seems to be a lighter `inner` colour.....I think it could be a Saucer Magnolia (Magnolia x Soulangiana). We had one in UK. Regardless of what this one actually is, I think all Magnolias are lovely, and there is an extensive colour range too....However, some can grow to around 25 ft, so be careful where you plant !!

I took a closer photo of similar trees in the nearby town of Csurgo. They have some outside their municipality building so they might know the variety name there.

It is a soulangiana (Susan). We have just lost a magnificant one because we moved it! I could cry we had it from being a baby!

Hi Angel of the North, I have sent you a PM - which you should be able to receive once you have made another post.

Think Evie hit the nail on the head
though it could also be a hybrid
Whichever it is, it is very pretty.
I managed to track down my Philadelphus online and have three arriving next week - can't wait. Hoping they flower this year as the smell is unbelievably gorgeous.

I have to collect my next Workaway guest from Budapest on May 1st so I will try to find tree nurseries over there, although Autumn is probably a better time for planting trees.
