Default Translated Emergency And Healthcare Statements

Hi All,

Below I have translated some common statements too either put in your wallet (for emergencies) or when communicating with health care workers, clinics, hospitals, etc.

Simply COPY & PASTE, and/or printout, the statements below that you would like to e-mail and/or present in person, or have just in case of an emergency. They are designed in a 'one statement' at a time manner whereby you can either select (copy and paste) only those you need to e-mail or printout the whole lot so that you (or a friend) point to them in person at a hospital or example.

Thanks for this. I have been pondering for some time about what to do about asthma inhalers. I sometimes get asthma but only at night, so I can't present myself to a doctor showing symptoms. Not a problem in UK as they can see from my notes that I've had asthma all my life. I still have a nearly empty inhaler that should have been used by November 2014 but that won't last much longer.

You should get a Medical Certificate and/or some sort of Doctor's Note from the UK (or wherever your non-HU residence is), in English, that mentioned your medical history and then have it OFFI translated. Present it to the HU doctor who may then give you a prescription for an inhaler. Better still, hopefully your HU doctor speaks English......

Q) Why are you not getting a new inhaler from your non-HU residence? I am assuming you are fully HU now, medical-wise? Also, is there not alternative remedies for those one-off nights of discomfort?

I would guess that I'm only eligible for emergency treatment with an EHIC card now in UK, as I don't have a residence. My cottage in Scotland is rented out so is not available for my use. I pay my 7100ft per month to be in the Hungarian health system but have so far only used it to get a tooth extraction. I did go to the GP appointed to my village a few months ago but he does not speak a word of English. I was told about an English speaking doctor in Marcali and went there (well over an hours drive) but it was closed. As usual, the surgery hours on their website bear no relationship to those posted on the door of the building!

Fidobsa - I have made a letter for your doctor - You can print it and show it to the doctor as well as email it. If you need additional info added, just ask.

Dear doctor

I occasionally suffer from asthma in the night time. Although I am not using an inhaler all the time, I need a new inhaler because my old one has expired. If it possible, I would like you to give me a prescription for a new inhaler.
