Magyar Referendum
They had a referendum but no one here noticed ? Turnout was too low too be legally valid. Maybe the Magyars are not universally anti-foreigner !

Yeah Scot, I'm only here a few weeks of the year but happen to be here at the moment, and was surprised that Yorkshire Pudding recipes and the preferred brand of household bleach were topics, but not the referendum. :-)

Reminds me of the "ordinary people who said, "I am not political but I think that Mr Hitler is a nice man."

I don't know whether to laugh or cry right now at the Tories antics. And the Magyar referendum, pure populist rabble rousing in my opinion.
I would love to be able to switch off and ignore it. Sadly that would be when I'm dead. Sometimes I do wonder if it would be nice!

Re: Magyar Referendum
Given the history of Hungary in the last 100 years switching off from politics could be a bad idea. My guess is that most of the Brits who have moved to Hungary in recent years do not have the foggiest about developments in Hungary.
