Re: Scrapyard
It happens in Kaposvar and Pecs also the guarding of items when there is a local clean up event.. Anytime when we have items we no longer want, we place them by the road and usually it is gone within a few hours if it is metal or wood and can have any future use or value. It is not worth the trouble to take off small amounts of scrap metal like an old appliance. Now, if your talking about an old car....maybe. We don't mind letting the needy in our area have usable unwanted items.

Re: Scrapyard
Here when our Mayor announces the "Lim-Lom" day he also tells people to put scrap out as late as possible because there are real treks driving up and down the steets to look for stuff that is reusable in a way.
And metals are collected on a different day. A bit OT: I still remember from many years ago how we followed a trek of Hungarian cars with overloaded trailers coming from Austria - it must have been more than a hundred who had collected stuff in an Austrian city. And on the other hand: When there is "Sperrmülltag" in my hometown in Germany you often see small trucks with HU or RO licence plates. |
