Default Pet insurance

Is it worth it in Hungary?
Our dog pet insurance was £50 per month in UK via Directline. Think absolute rip off. In three years never claimed anything. This is £600 per year. That's double my UK car insurance!

I've never bothered with pet insurance because your normal vet bills aren't expensive by comparison to the UK. The vet practice I use is Miskolci Allatkorhaz and both the vets and some of the staff speak fluent English which makes life much easier!

Last Thursday I paid 6500 HUF for Grisha's annual Rabies and booster vaccination and worming tablets. How does that compare to the UK?

I forgot to add that Grisha one of my Schnauzers was imported from Russia and has a Russian microchip. When I bought him he still had his Russian passport with all his details and medical history in it. The vet changed it over to a Hungarian EU Pet Passport and changed the details of the owner and address. I can't remember how much they charged me but certainly not more than 10 000 HUF.
